Natural plant fibre

Hemp fabric

Hemp is one of the strongest and most sustainable natural fibres. It grows fast with little water and usually no insecticides, and it softens with every wash. New hemp can feel coarse, which is its only real drawback.

Hemp uses about 70 percent less water than cotton and can be grown without insecticides or fungicides.

On your skin

A low-irritation natural fibre. It starts coarse and softens noticeably after several washes.

Comfort and performance

Breathable and naturally odour-resistant. Stiffer than cotton when new, then breaks in.

Durability

One of the strongest natural fibres, roughly 2 to 4 times stronger than cotton in like-for-like tests.

Environmental impact

Uses far less water than cotton, suppresses weeds so it needs few or no pesticides, and sequesters carbon as it grows. Organic hemp earns the top fibre rating.
